Privacy notice

The app needs no account and contains no advertising or tracking.

Last updated: 13 October 2026

1. Who is responsible?

Boris Iljadica

Email: info@doppelgaenger.eu

2. The app

What the app stores stays on your system and is not sent to us. When you use a music service, lyrics (LRCLIB), Apple catalogue search, RadioTunes or Sonos Radio, that provider receives what it needs to answer, under its own privacy notice. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

3. Update checks

If you allow it, the app checks daily for a new version; you can turn this off in Settings. A check sends the app and macOS version, the chip type, whether it was automatic, your licence state, and roughly how long you have had the app. Our server notes the country, not your IP address. Nothing in a check identifies you. We count checks to see which versions are in use. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), or our legitimate interest for checks you start yourself (Article 6(1)(f)).

4. Licence, purchase, and support

Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ, Estonia) is the merchant of record and handles payment. We receive your email, order and licence details, and keep a copy so a licence can be restored. Activating and checking a licence sends the key and your Mac's name through our server to Creem. If you write to us, we process your message and attachments. Legal basis: the contract and legal obligations (Article 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR).

5. Website and providers

This website is hosted by Cloudflare and uses cookie-free, aggregate Cloudflare Web Analytics. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare and our email provider process data on our behalf; Creem and the providers in section 2 are independent controllers. Transfers outside the EEA use Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

6. How long is data kept?

Update-check counts: about 90 days. Purchase and licence records: while the licence is in use, unless you ask us to delete them, and longer only where the law requires. Support messages: as long as the case needs.

7. Your rights

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to info@doppelgaenger.eu. You can also complain to a data protection authority; ours is the Bavarian state authority.

8. What you must provide, and automated decisions

What you must provide. You can use the app without giving us any personal data. To buy a licence, you give Creem your email address and payment details; without them there is no purchase. To activate a licence, the app sends the key and your Mac's name (section 4); without activation, the app keeps working in its free mode. Everything else is optional, such as update checks or writing to us.

Automated decisions. We do not profile you, and nothing is decided by evaluating you. The app applies two fixed rules on its own: the trial ends after 14 days, and a licence whose purchase was refunded or charged back stops working 14 days later. Both follow from a fact, a date or a reversed payment, not from an assessment of you. If you think one was applied wrongly, write to us and a person will look at it.
