Refund policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

The short version: try first, then buy. Every feature and every room is free for 14 days, with no sign-up and no card, so you can check that Doppelgänger works with your speakers and your music services before you pay. Because of that, purchases are final.

No refunds after purchase

The trial is how you decide. If Doppelgänger doesn't work with your Mac, your speakers or your music services during the trial, please don't buy it. So we don't refund because a feature you would like is missing, or because the app doesn't run on a system it isn't made for — it is for macOS only. We also can't promise that a feature will be added later.

Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights as a consumer, for example if the app is defective.

Asking about a refund

If you believe your statutory rights apply, email support@doppelgaenger.eu from the address you bought with, or give us that address and the order number from your purchase confirmation, and tell us what happened.

Purchases are processed by Creem, our merchant of record. An approved refund goes back to your original payment method; how long it takes to appear depends on your bank or card provider.

What happens to the app

When a refund is issued, the licence key is disabled. Doppelgänger keeps working in the free mode — one room at a time — and nothing you made is deleted.

Renewals

Update renewals (€14.95) follow the same rules. Where one is refunded, remember that a renewal extends a licence rather than being a licence of its own:

  • Refunding a renewal leaves your licence in place. Only the extra year of updates goes back. Versions released inside your original year keep working; a newer version you installed during the renewal runs in the free mode until you go back to a version your licence covers.
  • Refunding the original purchase ends any renewal on it. There is no licence left for the renewal to extend, so both keys are disabled together — and both are refunded.
