Your RadioTunes and DI.fm premium stations, on Sonos

Play RadioTunes, DI.fm, JazzRadio, ZenRadio, RockRadio and ClassicalRadio in any room, with your own premium subscription. Add a station by pasting its link from the network's website, and Doppelgänger keeps your key apart from your stations.

How to set it up

  1. In Settings → Music, switch on RadioTunes premium stations. It is off at first, because it needs a paid account; once it's on, the Radio Tunes panel appears.
  2. On the network's "Hardware Player Settings" page, choose a channel and a quality, and click its playlist link to copy it (more about the listen key).
  3. In Radio Tunes, click Add Station and paste the link. Doppelgänger reads the network, the channel and your key from it, fills in the channel's name, and checks the link with the network before you save.
  4. Play it in any room, pin it to Home, or add it to your Sonos favourites.

Your listen key stays on your Mac

One key works for every network, so the first link you paste sets it up for all of them. Doppelgänger keeps it in a protected file on your Mac and never shows it in full again, only its last four characters. The key isn't written into each station: Doppelgänger builds the stream address when you press play.

Paste a link with a different key later, and Doppelgänger asks whether to use the new key for all networks or keep the saved one. A new key is checked with the network before it is saved, and you can also change it under Radio Tunes → Manage….

Six networks, one key

  • RadioTunes, DI.fm, JazzRadio, ZenRadio, RockRadio and ClassicalRadio are all listed from the start
  • Each network has its own section; fold sections away and drag them into the order you like
  • Show your stations as a grid or a list, and drag stations to reorder them
  • Choose 128k AAC or 320k MP3 once, for every station

Questions

Do I need a RadioTunes subscription?

Yes. These are premium stations: you need a paid subscription with the network and its listen key. Doppelgänger doesn't sell subscriptions and is not affiliated with RadioTunes, DI.fm or AudioAddict.

My RadioTunes stations disappeared from Sonos. Can I get them back?

Some listeners report that their RadioTunes stations went missing from their Sonos favourites after Sonos's new app in 2024. Doppelgänger doesn't depend on those favourites: add your stations by pasting their links, and play them in any room. If you want them in your Sonos favourites again too, add them from Doppelgänger.

Will I see these stations in the Sonos app?

Not at first. Your RadioTunes stations are kept in Doppelgänger, on your Mac. Add one to your Sonos favourites and it shows in the Sonos app on a Mac or PC; the Sonos phone app may not show it.

A station in your Sonos favourites keeps the listen key it was saved with. When you change your key, Doppelgänger offers to update those favourites for you.

What do I need?

A Mac with Apple silicon, a Sonos S2 system on the same network, and a premium subscription. Every feature is free for 14 days. After that, adding RadioTunes stations needs a licence, €29.95 once; the free mode still plays the stations you have, one room at a time.

Needs a premium subscription with the network.
